SGS is pleased to announce that our acquisition of Time Mining Group, based in Johannesburg, South Africa has been approved by the Competition Commission of South Africa. We welcome the staff from this group into the SGS Minerals Services network.

Trading as SGS Time Mining, this group brings extensive technical expertise and process engineering experience to the Minerals Services portfolio of services including:

  • Comprehensive analytical services for precious and base metals
  • Design and process engineering for due diligence, feasibility and trade-off studies
  • Process plant design, engineering, procurement, construction supervision, project management and commissioning for small and mid-tier projects
  • Plant upgrades, audits and optimization analysis

SGS is committed to continually providing clients with improved capabilities. The addition of these integrated services enables Minerals Services to further expand their service line offerings. These integrated services create a synergistic process that helps clients identify, develop and manage projects more efficiently to get to market faster. With several locations throughout Africa, SGS Time Mining facilities are ideally situated to support the exploration and mining industry across the African continent and around the world.

This acquisition further expands SGS’s unparalleled global network of over 150 commercial, on-site and mobile laboratories, 12 metallurgical facilities and 5 mineralogy facilities. Of these sites, 5 labs are fully integrated GEMM (geochemistry, environmental, metallurgy, mineralogy) labs (located in Australia, Brazil, Canada, Chile and South Africa) and 2 provide integrated geochemistry-metallurgy services (Peru and Russia).
