SGS’s Training Academy in South Africa has launched its Riskstar Training Qualification to effectively meet our clients’ SHERQ training requirements holistically.
The purpose of this training qualification is to provide you with the knowledge, skills and attitude to recognize hazards and take effective preventative actions, prevent injuries and foster a healthy, safe and environmental culture at your workplace, while ensuring quality principles are adhered to.
This qualification is aimed at all Supervisors, Line Managers and anyone involved in health, safety, environmental and quality management in the workplace.
This training qualification is also offered as e-learning, which ensures standardisation and consistency in delivery of content while nurturing a learning organisation and encouraging sharing.
The Qualification Content comprises:
Subject 1 - Safety Leadership for Supervisors and Safety Officers (Communication, BBS)
Subject 2 - Legal Requirements (OHS Act 85 of 1993)
Subject 3 - Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment (HIRA)
Subject 4 - Personal Protective Equipment
Subject 5 - Work Permit Systems
Subject 6 - Inspections
Subject 7 - Confined Space Entry
Subject 8 - Hazardous Chemical Substances
Subject 9 - Incident Investigation
Subject 10 - Root Cause Analysis
Subject 11 - Management Systems (ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001)
The method of delivery for this training is offered as either face-to-face or e-learning depending on the requirement of our clients and learners.
The assessment requirements are two-fold and include a formative assessment (practical workshop and self-check exercises) and a summative assessment (Summative Knowledge Assessment and Integrated Assignment), respectively. For more information, please contact:
